There was a beautiful sunset last night. I was tweaking this photo with Photogene² and had a play with the reflection effect. I like how it makes it look like there was a body of water in the image.

This is a photo of Kaylee from the first week we had her. I love the way she cleans her face and her ears! It’s also pretty funny how she looks like an evil genius when you take a photo of her getting ready to clean her face.

This is one great big building on the corner. I love the architecture, and it was very red (but I preferred the photo in black and white).

I’m currently using the left half of this photo as my iPhone lock screen wall, and I like it!

I haven’t got much to say about this one, I have no idea what the dome is or what the cranes are for, but they look interesting together, no? This was taken along the Swan River, much closer to Fremantle than Perth I think.

I’d never seen a quokka before going to Rottnest Island. Most of them were very shy, but not this guy! They’re so furry, it makes you want to reach out and touch them to see if that hair is coarse or smooth! but I didn’t think it was a great idea.

I don’t know how close this lake/dam was to Perth, but I’m sure it was somewhere in Western Australia, and reasonably far west because the plane hadn’t gone above the clouds yet. I thought these land and water formations were pretty cool; it wasn’t until I looked closer at the photo that I noticed it seems to be dammed up on the right.

I found the architecture of St Mary’s in Perth rather intriguing for a cathedral. Most of the cathedrals I’ve seen are very square, and often cross shaped at a bird’s eye view. This one was very round, You can just see it in this photo: at the sides the supports, the not-quite-flying-buttresses are attached to some kind of arch. Very modern. Thanks to Wikipedia I now know that particular bit of architecture was built 2006–2009. So, quite recent indeed.

I loved the look of this little stone building perched on the edge of a very large oval. I didn’t figure out what the building was for, but it’s cute!

I’m not sure why this was taken at f/2.8. I think I might have had Aperture Priority set on 2.8 and then took some at f/22 to get as much in focus as possible, but then I liked the framing of this one better.

I was going to post another bright blue sky photo (which I will soon), but the orange just grabbed my eye. Maybe not the greatest sunset photo ever taken, but I think you can still see that it was a pretty nice sunset!

I loved the salt lakes on Rottnest Island. They were so blue and pretty and some of them had white dried salt around the edges. The little planes flying to and from the island were quite cute too.
